Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 18, 2026
This policy explains what spotsnap collects, why, and your choices. We keep it short and plain because that's how privacy should be. We are committed to handling your information in line with Canada's privacy law (PIPEDA).
What we collect
- Your email — to sign you in and send cancellation alerts.
- Your phone number — only if you add it for SMS alerts.
- Your watches — the campgrounds, sites, and dates you ask us to monitor.
- Basic usage data — standard logs and aggregate analytics to keep the service working and improve it.
- Payment details — handled entirely by Stripe if you upgrade. We never see or store your card number.
How we use it
To run your account, send the alerts you ask for, provide support, keep the service secure, and improve it. We do not sell your personal information, and we don't share it for advertising.
Who we share it with (service providers)
We use a small set of trusted providers, each receiving only what they need to do their job:
- Supabase — authentication and database.
- Resend — sending email.
- Twilio — sending SMS (only if you enable it).
- Stripe — payment processing (paid plans).
- Vercel & Railway — hosting our website and servers.
Cookies
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in. We don't use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
Your choices & rights
You can pause or delete your watches anytime from your dashboard, and you can ask us to access, correct, or delete your personal information by contacting us. Every alert email also tells you why you're receiving it and links you back to manage your watches.
Retention & security
We keep your information only as long as needed to provide the service or as required by law, and we use reasonable measures to protect it. No system is perfectly secure, but we take care with the data you trust us with.
Children
spotsnap isn't intended for anyone under 16.
Changes & contact
We may update this policy and will revise the date above when we do. Questions or requests? Get in touch.
